Onion coleslaw


Coleslaw should always include a generous amount of onions. It is often better the day after it is made, when the flavors have had a chance to blend.


Preparation time: 15 minutes

Serves 6

  • 1/2 small green cabbage, shredded

  • 3 large carrots, peeled and grated

  • 1 red onion, finely chopped

  • 4 spring onions, trimmed and finely sliced

  • Salt and black pepper

  • 125 ml (4 fl oz) mayonnaise

  • 9 tbsp natural yoghurt

  1. Mix all the vegetables together in a large bowl and season well.

  2. Add the mayonnaise and yoghurt and thoroughly, ensuring that all the vegetables are well coated in the dressing.
