Boston Brownies

250 g (8 oz) butter or vegetarian
margarine, softened, plus extra for greasing

250 g (8 oz) soft light brown sugar

4 eggs, beaten

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

200 g (7 oz) plain flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

50 g (2 oz) cocoa powder

125 g (4 oz) toasted hazelnuts, chopped

125 g (4 oz) plain chocolate, chopped

125 g (4 oz) mini marshmallows

Grease and line a 30x 20 x 5 cm 1 (12 x 8
x 2 inch) baking tin.

Beat the butter or margarine L with the
soft light brown sugar until light. Gradually beat in the eggs and
vanilla. Sift the flour, baking powder, salt and cocoa powder over the
mixture and fold in. Stir in the toasted hazelnuts, chopped chocolate
and mini marshmallows.

Spoon the mixture into the prepared tin
and bake in a preheated oven, 180C (350F) Gas Mark 4, for 30-35
minutes. Leave in the tin to cool, before cutting into 12 pieces.
