Boiled Corn
Drop the husked ears of sweet corns into a
kettle of rapidly boiling water to cover. Cover the pot, bring to a
boil again, and cook 3 minutes. Remove the kettle from the heat and let
stand, covered, for 5 minutes. Drain and serve very hot. Any leftover
corn can be reheated by dropping it into boiling water to cover for
about 1 minute.
Microwaved Corn
How to microwave corn on the cob? Place
the unhusked corn in a single layer on the turntable of a microwave
oven, alternating tips and stem ends. Microwave on high, 5 minutes for
2 ears, 8 minutes for 3 to 4 ears. Let the corn stand 5 minutes before
husking. Be careful when pulling the husks back as they will be very
hot and the corn will be steaming.
Roasted or Grilled Corn
How to cook corn on the grill? Soak the unhusked corn in cold water to
cover for 30 minutes. Drain. Roast the corn in a 400F oven, turning it
at least once, for 20 minutes. Or place the soaked corn on the barbecue
grill over medium-hot coals. Grill, turning the corn from time to time,
20 to 25 minutes. Serve hot. Be careful when pulling the husks back, as
they will be very hot and the corn will be steaming.
